Hi! I’m Johnny, and I offer boutique-style staycations where your pup gets to enjoy luxury, calm, and personalized care in a home that feels like their own little retreat.
I’m all about creating a calm, structured environment where dogs actually feel safe and can relax from the moment they walk in. My home is set up with their comfort in mind—peaceful spaces to chill, cozy spots for naps, a fully fenced patio for outdoor time, and I keep everything clean and tidy throughout their stay.
I’ve been working with dogs for over 15 years, including time as a vet assistant, so I’m comfortable with medication, special needs, and senior pups. I recently left my corporate job to do this full time, which means your dog gets my full attention all day long.
Whether your pup is shy, super energetic, or somewhere in between, I meet them where they are. I build my day around what your dog needs—not the other way around. That means gentle introductions, consistent routines, calm group play, and lots of love and fun activities.

Johnny is an amazing dog sitter. He is extremely calm and knowledgeable about all types of dogs. I have always been nervous to bring my Golden Retriever Korra to a dog sitter since she can be reactive, but Johnny wasn’t concerned at all and he took the best care of her and my other dog Grace for a long weekend. He is very quick to reply and is proactive with communication. He also sends daily photo/video updates which are very lovely to receive when you are away on vacation. I highly highly recommend Johnny to anyone in Orange County looking for a dog sitter!

Johnny is literally the best! We have utilized Ruh-Roh Retreat many times and every single time we have been beyond satisfied. Our pug is 10 years old, blind, and diabetic. She requires insulin two times per day, extra care because of her blindness, and can get really bad anxiety. Johnny has gone above and beyond every time for her. He blocked off areas so she wouldn't run into walls, gave her extra cuddles and constantly sent us updates and videos. He plays games with her, and constantly watches over her. He is an expert at giving her all her medication; and gives her extra treats. He took her on walks in a wagon because she gets confused sometimes, and has always treated her like his own fur baby! We are so thankful that Johnny has been such a reliable source for care. We don't trust anyone else with our dog. He even tries to make sure during a meet and greet that a dog is well paired for the dogs he may be taking care of. He is so thorough and very reasonably priced and we are just eternally grateful that we can use his services whenever we need him! Thank you Johnny for doing such an exceptional job taking care of our baby!

John is great. My dog tends to be a little reactive with new experiences and is very attached to my wife and I. John took the time to get to know my dog before he took him into the house. A half hour later he sent me a video of him playing with my very happy dog. I recommend him without reservation. Five stars all the way.

I’ve had both Jonathan and Trudy watch my pup. Jonathan is basically my dog’s favorite person in the world and he jumps all over him whenever he sees him. He knows how to manage his energy really well and takes him for lots of walks every day and keeps him entertained in the home as well. Trudy is so great with my dog! She sent updates and pics daily, and he was so happy soaking up sunshine or cuddling with her on the bed every day. She noticed immediately when he wasn’t feeling well and took him right to the vet. It’s so nice to have found people I can fully trust with my large boi!
